A legacy of hard work, family & community

Rob Knight’s journey—from a young boy raised by his grandmother in Carrollton, Texas, to a successful entrepreneur and developer—is a story of resilience, dedication, and family. Raised with the belief that the only person who could hold him back was himself, Rob grew up working various jobs, from delivering newspapers to cleaning Taco Bell parking lots and working construction with his uncle.

As a young man, he began his 40+ year career in the beverage industry with Pepsi, eventually moving on to Dr Pepper, where he held numerous roles. After gaining experience with Rockstar Energy Drink and Coca-Cola USA, Rob’s career took a significant turn in 2010 when he joined I.B.C., a company designed to help independent convenience store owners compete with major chains.

Under Rob’s leadership, IBC (WWW.IBC.US) grew from 800 stores to 2,200 before Rob took full ownership in 2016 and then continued to grow IBC’s business to over 11,000 stores across 37 states today, thereby solidifying his reputation as a dynamic business leader. However, Rob’s success didn’t come without challenges. He learned the importance of balancing family and business, with his wife, Jodi, playing an essential role in both his personal and professional life. Their unwavering support for each other has been a cornerstone of his achievements.

As Rob’s entrepreneurial spirit continued to flourish, he expanded into the real estate sector, founding Knight Development Group.

In 2021, he transitioned into real estate because he needed a new office to support his growth at IBC.  When he founded Knight Development Group (KnightsOffice.com) and built their first residential community and commercial space to build his new office and first Corporate Convenience store Knight Spot.  This is where he and his son Joey fell in love with the Development space. Sheena, his daughter, joined the family business in 2024 to help Rob and Joey keep up with their growth.  His other son Chris will soon be joining the Knight Family team to support the family’s growth and vision.

Additional fuel for Knight Development Group’s growth Rob founded Knights Title, Knight Luxury Homes, Knight Family Office, Knight Property Group, and acquired majority ownership in Knight Contracting Group, which develops convenience stores, hotels, veterinarians, restaurants, office spaces and much more.

Together, they are building Knight companies throughout communities that prioritize family values and quality living.

Knights Landing, located in Bartonville, North Texas, offers 6-acre lots, allowing families to enjoy spacious, private homesites while still being close to modern conveniences. Designed with contemporary amenities and a country feel, it promises an exceptional living experience for those seeking peace and tranquility.

Coming soon, Knights Development Group will expand to the desirable areas of Denton, Argyle, and Flower Mound, featuring lots as large as 2 and 2 1/2 acres in these thriving communities. These new developments will bring the same commitment to quality and family-focused living to some of North Texas’ most sought-after neighborhoods.

But Rob’s vision doesn’t stop there.

In addition to these impressive residential communities, Knight Development Group is continuing to expand into retail through Knight Contracting Group, which will build convenience stores, hotels, restaurants, and office spaces in many of these same areas.

With all of these blessing its extremely important to the Knight Family Charity to give back to the community through various charities.

Rob’s favorite quote, “Listen to your angels,” reflects his deep sense of faith and belief in guidance. It’s this mindset, along with his personal mantra—“You get back from the world what you put into it. Karma is real. Keep a good heart, but an even stronger mind..."—that has guided him through his entrepreneurial journey. As Rob says, “If you do these things, the universe will get out of your way and allow you to be the best version of yourself.”
